Comment
  • A transnational qualification can be issued in different contexts:
    • a community of practice involving several countries, irrespective of their geographic situation, e.g. two countries of the Commonwealth;
    • a regional framework involving countries in the same geographic area, e.g. the European qualifications framework for lifelong learning (EQF);
    • a sectoral framework covering qualifications issued by a specific sector in several countries;
  • this term is close to, but not synonymous with: international qualification / international certification.
