- The term industrial relations also refers to the field of study which focuses on the institutions and processes of job regulation. In this sense, industrial relations pertain to the study of the employment relationship and its management and regulation. They encompass aspects such as management strategy, work organisation, work practices, employee participation and State regulation;
- this term is close to, but not synonymous with: employment relationship.
