During the international educational exhibition "School 2008", which occurs from February 28 till March 2, 2008, 52 students from vocational education establishments will participate in 19 skill competitions to show their professional knowledge and skills in the frameworks of the contest "New Professional 2008". The winners of this contest will take part in the European competition "EuroSkills 2008".
The competition "New Professional 2008" is organized by the Ministry of Education and Science, its subordinated institution Vocational Education Administration together with social partners. The official authorities view this activity as opportunity to foster development, prestige and popularity of vocational education in Latvia
