About VET for adults

Vocational education and training, particularly continuing VET (CVET), is crucial in supporting participation of adults in lifelong learning so they can develop, update and upgrade their skills.
Aiming at developing a coordinated, coherent and systematic approach to CVET is a priority in the current VET policy cycle (2020 Cedefop-ETF discussion paper, the Osnabrück Declaration and the Council Recommendation of 24 November 2020 on vocational education and training).
Apart form Cedefop's own research on CVET, we provide evidence and knowledge sources related to how VET may support low-skilled adults in upskilling and re-skilling, and adult refugees in migrating legally for employment. Information is available as well on how employers may support VET for adults, including through work-based learning.
