The Delphi Economic Forum is a high level conference convening business, government and researchers to foster dialogue for positive social impact. The 2024 edition took place from Wednesday to Saturday, April 10-13 in the historic town of Delphi. It gathered  3000 participants and speakers from 70 countries.

The event was under the patronage of HE the President of the Hellenic Republic Ms Katerina Sakellaropoulou. Among the distinguished speakers were Ukraine President Vladimir Zelenski, Montenegro President Jakov Milatovic, Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar, Queen Dana of Jordan, OECD General Secretary Mathias Cormann, the Vice President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas, Commissioners Paolo Gentiloni and Oliver Varhelyi and the ex-President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso.

This year’s Forum had a pillar focused on Education and Training and Loukas Zahilas, Cedefop, Head of DVQ participated in a panel discussion on Empowering the Future Workforce through Vocational Training. The discussion was moderated by the President of the Bodosaki Foundation, Athina Desypri, while the other speakers were Olga Kafetzopoulou, Director of VET and LLL at the Greek Ministry of Education, Giorgos Xirogiannis, General Director of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, Yannis Kallias, CEO of TUV Austria and Anna Rokophyllou, President INEDIVIM. Mr Zahilas, presented Cedefop work on future trends and current challenges of vocational education and training and discussed the latest developments in VET in Greece.

On the sidelines of the Forum, Loukas Zahilas had also a meeting with Ugochi Daniels, Acting Director General for the Operational Section of the International Organization for Migration, which is based in Switzerland.
