Shift that an individual experiences during his/her career between:
- employment and unemployment or inactivity (e.g. parental or sabbatical leave, disability, skills obsolescence);
- employment and education and training (e.g. upskilling or retraining / reskilling);
- formality (stable employment with access to social security schemes) and informality (e.g. casual work, platform work);
- different occupations or sectors.
