This section is dedicated to VET’s contribution to developing the European Education Area, which is one of the key priorities of the post-2020 policy cycle. The level of internalization of VET is accounted by the percentage of learners in IVET who benefitted from a learning mobility abroad and complemented by the average number of foreign languages learned in IVET.

The progress indicator Learners in VET who benefitted from a learning mobility abroad (%) accounts for the share of mobile IVET learners in a calendar year. This is expressed as a percentage of an annual cohort of IVET graduates. Mobility is a period of at least 10 days. IVET at ISCED levels 3 and 4 is considered for learners and graduates. Data are provisional estimates and affected by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemics. Estimates are Cedefop calculations based on European Commission methodology, European Commission Erasmus+ data supplied at Cedefop's request, as well as Eurostat data, UOE data collection on formal education.
