Based on the requirements of the regulatory framework, for applicants to be considered eligible, they must fulfil all the following requirements.

  • Nationality: Be a national of a Member State of the European Union;
  • Citizen rights: Enjoy full rights as a citizen; 
  • Military service: Have fulfilled any legal obligations concerning military service;
  • Physical fitness: Be physically fit to perform their duties relating to the post;
  • Language skills: Have a thorough knowledge (level C1 in all dimensions as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)) of one EU language and a satisfactory knowledge (Level B2 in all dimensions as per the CEFR) of another EU language as required for the performance of the duties.
  • Qualifications: To be eligible for a specific profile and the related grade, applicants must have the required level of education, as defined in the vacancy notice. Only diplomas that have been awarded in EU Member States or that are the subject of equivalence certificates issued by the authorities in the said Member States shall be taken into consideration. Degrees issued by UK educational institutions before the Brexit are valid and thus no certification of equivalency is needed.
  • Professional experience: To be eligible for a specific profile and the related grade, applicants must have the professional experience as defined in the vacancy notice, if applicable. Professional experience is counted from the date on which the applicant acquired the minimum qualification for access to the profile in question (e.g. secondary certificate or post-secondary diploma for AST profiles, university degree for AD profiles).
